What do you think astronauts eat in space? Well it’s certainly not the astronaut ice cream you can buy in novelty stores. They have ovens to heat up their food, and salt and pepper to season it. But step aside macaroni and cheese because sushi is coming to your space plate, with chopsticks included. The Japanese space agency, JAXA, is going to be offering sushi on the international space stations menu as soon as they can find a way to give it a shelf life of one year. They are expecting the new Japanese Space Cuisine to be on the menu by next year. I wonder if they’ll get fortune cookies with that.

I think I would only eat sushi if I was trapped in space.
