Getting Your Website Listed On Google
If you own a website it is very important that you consider doing some type of online marketing. I use to be an SEO Consultant and one thing you really want to do is to optimize for the organic search listings.
A good way to achieve those listings is having keyword rich content. Another approach towards getting your page higher in the SERPS is building a good link popularity campaign is a good place to start. This will greatly increase your rankings on Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.
Another rule of thumb is to stay away from companies that guarantee results. This is impossible to do as the search engines run on their own algorithms that we as SEO programmers cannot control. We play by their TOS and rules and hope for the best.

Hey Julie,
You’ve been at this business a lot longer than I have, but I came across a tip that I have used, and I think I have seen it work.
I was wondering if you might be able to review the theory or debunk the practice or maybe just say, “I dunno”
I set up a Google Pages account and went to the page and pushed in feeds from my page on Google. I did this primarily so that the Google bots would index my pages (faster/easier/better)
Most of my stuff has been indexed before, but I was working for a client on his website a while back. I set up his website. he went to his own Google pages account and simply put in a link to the website, and was indexed by the end of the week.
I couldn’t find anything else that might have picked it up that fast.
What do you think?
Oh and by the way, I love your template! All your templates have a great play with colors and that definitely works for me. best regards, brett
