Google Hot Trends

JulieCool Sites

Google Hot Trends I noticed something else new in Google today called Google Hot Trends. It shows the top 100 real-time searches, that people using the search engine are looking for.

You can click on one of the search terms like goddess of wisdom, and it will take you to a page with the amount of searches and related searches, along with results from Google News, Blog Posts and Web Results.

This clearly is a great list to see what the latest hot item is to blog about, and what keywords to use in your post. I’m excited about this one!

AdesDesign - Color Picker

JulieCool Software

Color Picker Software Normally when you want to use a color on the web you have to take a screen shot, then open it with PhotoShop, and then use the color picker tool. This is just a time waster when you can buy the Color Picker software for just $9.99.

Color Picker Software

AdesClrPicker is very easy to use and a must have for Web Designers, and Web Developers. With a single click of the mouse you can capture any color on your screen then output this color in HTML, RGB, C++, VB and Delphi color codes. When you are working on a project, you have to be able to refer to this color code often, and this tool allows you to have it, right at your fingertips, by capturing the last 10 colors that you used.

And for an added bonus, Ades from AdesDesign has a blog located at AdesBlog.com. He’s got great articles on web products and new technologies.

Catch Me If You Can With The The Sha-Poopie

JulieCool Products

Even with your hand safely shielded by a plastic bag, bending over and picking up dog crap is gross and nasty. Now you can just catch it before it hits the ground with the Sha-Poopie.

Sha-Poopie

All you do is shove it under your dogs butt and catch it if you can. I’m not a dog owner, but I’m sure this would come in useful. I think it’s totally ridiculous looking, and I would be afraid of being laughed at while at the dog park. All the other dogs would call your dog names, and not let him play with them. Really.

Computer Monitoring

JulieCool Software

If your a home computer user or a small business, there is going to come a time when you need computer monitoring software. You can automatically monitor IM’s, and chats, MySpace activity, email activity and the history of what websites were viewed.

You can use this to monitor your child’s computer activity at home, or you can use it to monitor your employees internet usage. It is a great tool to monitor your teens MySpace usage. Ir monitors and records, what profiles they look at, what pictures they post to their profile, and even what comments they make on other people’s profiles.

Buy Website Traffic

JulieCool Web Dev & SEO

One of the best ways for bloggers to make money online is through contextual advertising. Companies and business owners can buy website traffic, by using these services online that are springing up on a daily basis. Targeted website traffic obtained through the use of blogs is one of the greatest online marketing tactics at the moment. I wish I would have thought of it a couple years ago.

You get relevant links, on relevant blogs, that will drive the relevant traffic to your site. Do you see a theme here? Relevancy. This traffic is interested in your product or service, and they want to see it. You reached them through a bloggers voice, not an annoying pop up ad. If you are a business owner with an online presence you really need to get in on this form of online advertising now while it’s still hot.

iGoogle Personalized Homepage

JulieCool Tech News

iGoogle Personalized Homepage Have you guys played around with your new iGoogle Personalized Homepage yet? Sometime last week I noticed that Michael had an iGoogle icon on his homepage. I didn’t have one on mine, so I looked into it more today. It ended up being that the “City Scape” theme I was using, didn’t display it. Once I changed to the “Seasonal Scape” theme I saw it. I played around with a couple of cool features that I would like to share with you.

The first one is Web History. Once you click on it, it will prompt you for your password, and then you have to turn on the history to view it. It’s really cool as it shows you a quick glance of all you searched, including thumbnails of images that you searched. You can also sort by Web, Images, News, Products, Sponsored Links, Products, and Maps. So when you are trying to remember something you searched for online, it’s all there, and searchable by month, date, and even year.

The next thing I played with was the Create your own gadget and share it with friends. It’s all the way down at the bottom of your personalized home page. The first thing I made was a GoogleGram for Michael. They are virtual gifts and messages that you create, then send to your friends Gmail account. They then can view it, and put it on their personalized homepage. I set it to change a new message, with a new picture everyday.

It’s really pretty cool, and there are several other features to check out.

100 Web Apps for Everything You Will Possibly Need

JulieCool Sites

I found a wonderful article that list the 100 Web Apps for everything you will possibly need. They list them in 15 different categories that make it easy to find just what you need at a glance, including “Tools to Give & Take” and “Client Contact & Feedback.”

One of the tools they list under the “Storage” categories is Flickr. I upload the majority of my photos there to save storage space on my laptop, and to store my pictures I take from my camera phone. They have the easiest to use interface, with an email address that uploads them for you in a snap.

One tool I had never seen was Ta-da List, where you can keep track of all your busy projects, and share them with others involved in your project. You can even check task off as you get them done, just like a paper list.

I’ve only mentioned two of the one hundred, so make sure to go check out the other ninety eight web apps for everything you will possibly need. Great article!

New Flickr Slideshow

JulieCool Sites

Flickr I think it’s pretty apparent, that I love Flickr, and I try to keep up with all their new projects that they have going on. This one got me excited! It’s their new Slideshow feature that has bigger pictures, including titles and descriptions, and all the photos show up on a black background, making them stand out.

Check it out for yourself in this example they have made. I think it’s amazing!
