The Resident

JulieCool Geek Stuff

I’m still surfing YouTube. I have absolutely no motivation to do anything productive today. I came across The Resident video series, and I have been laughing out loud, severely! LOL! This one on health insurance totally cracked me up. Some of these people she talks to on the street obviously got life insurance no medical exam required, because they are walking around with absolutely no health insurance, and no medical care. It sure does suck!

Radar Detector Reviews

JulieCool Products

Some of you may be old enough to remember the days of your parents radar detectors sitting up on the dashboard. My little brother and I thought it was so cool when that thing would start going off. We’d get a kick out of looking around for the cop, and seeing who could be the first one to spot him. It’s funny how a site for radar detector reviews would remind me of something I haven’t thought about in years.

Bang A Drum

JulieCool Geek Stuff

I’m kind of bored at work today. Not because I have nothing to do, but because I don’t feel like doing anything. Actually I wish I was home vegging on the couch. While surfing around YouTube, I came across these street performers. I guess they were just on the sidewalk, hanging out in Branson Missouri, making music. They are pretty good actually. I wonder if this is how the Blue Man Group got their start?

The Whacky Realtor

JulieCool Geek Stuff

I was surfing around YouTube which I usually do every day during my last 30 minutes of my work day, and I found this funny realtor video. I got to laughing so hard, I’m sure my coworkers wonder what is going on in here. I looked at a lot of houses when I was buying, and we talked to several realtor’s along the way, but none of them acted like this guy, thanks goodness!

Wikipedia Editors Revealed

JulieCool Sites

I just read a story on Time.com called Wikipedia Editors Now Unmasked. Up until last week, editors at the ever popular Wikipedia were completely anonymous, and only identifiable by their IP addresses.

With the creation of WikiScanner these editors are now revealed. The rebuttals against some of the Scientology entries, of course come from the Scientology corporate headquarters, and some entries were even traced back to The Associated Press.

Interesting stuff! Go check it out for yourself. What are your thoughts on this?

JulieCool Web Dev & SEO

Search Engine Marketing

Interactive marketing, and viral marketing are the way to go now for advertising on the internet. With the popularity of You Tube, and social networking, you can encompass a campaign for your business that will get the consumers talking. There are many search engine marketing firms out there ready to make this happen for you, but none with the knowledge and expertise that Terralever has.

They can build you an impressive website, get you listed high in the search engine results, and market your business or product to just the right customers. So if you’re ready to take your business to the next level, and utilize all that Web 2.0 has to offer, it’s worth your time to check them out.

Facebook

JulieCool Sites

I just signed up for Facebook a couple weeks ago. Mu husband was urging me to, so I thought I would give it a try. WOW! I’ve become an addict! The addon applications are so fun to look at and implement, that it’s worth it right there. And the nonexistent spam from wanna-be bikini models is a blessing. It’s like MySpace, for grownups. Really!

So once again…if you know me from the forums, or from my blogs, let’s be friends!

Dish Network Promotions

JulieCool Products

We currently have digital cable from our local cable provider. The service is good, reception is great, everything is really good, except for one thing. The price. Our cable bill for all our channels is a little over $150 a month, and I’m starting to really feel a crunch in my pocketbook when I pay that bill every month. I’d like to see if I can get that same service for less, so I started looking into Dish Network Promotions.

They are currently running Dish Network deals on free DVR upgrades. I currently pay $15 a month for each DVR we have in the house, and we currently have two. That is an extra $30 bucks right there, just in equipment charges. And don’t forget the remotes. Those are a couple bucks a month as well. I think we’re getting screwed using the cable company, and I am seriously thinking about switching over to Dish Network.

There are other Dish Network Offers listed on that site as well, like free premium movie channels for three months. And not to mention the $200 cash back offer! $100 cash as $10 credits for 10 months standard programming, and another $100 cash back on HD programming.

I’m having a hard time refusing these Dish Network deals! What’s your thoughts on this? Who has Dish Network out there? Do you love it? Should I switch?

Hells Kitchen - Green Valley Ranch

JulieCool Sites

culinary school This isn’t really geeky, but who watches Hells Kitchen? Oh man I love that show, and Gordon Ramsey is great! You stupid donkey! HAHAHA!

I would love to go to culinary school like TCA. I thought that was great that he gave Julia a culinary school education scholarship. With the right education, she will become a great chef one day.

This seasons winner is going to be running a restaurant at the hotel and casino right by my house, The Green Valley Ranch. It will be fun to go up there and eat to see Bonnie cooking up a storm. Okay, it could be Rock, but I want Bonnie to win.
