We currently have digital cable from our local cable provider. The service is good, reception is great, everything is really good, except for one thing. The price. Our cable bill for all our channels is a little over $150 a month, and I’m starting to really feel a crunch in my pocketbook when I pay that bill every month. I’d like to see if I can get that same service for less, so I started looking into Dish Network Promotions.

They are currently running Dish Network deals on free DVR upgrades. I currently pay $15 a month for each DVR we have in the house, and we currently have two. That is an extra $30 bucks right there, just in equipment charges. And don’t forget the remotes. Those are a couple bucks a month as well. I think we’re getting screwed using the cable company, and I am seriously thinking about switching over to Dish Network.

There are other Dish Network Offers listed on that site as well, like free premium movie channels for three months. And not to mention the $200 cash back offer! $100 cash as $10 credits for 10 months standard programming, and another $100 cash back on HD programming.

I’m having a hard time refusing these Dish Network deals! What’s your thoughts on this? Who has Dish Network out there? Do you love it? Should I switch?

Isn’t that camera sexy? I first saw it in an ad in my Lucky magazine of all places. It was a cardboard cutout of the actual size that you could pull out of the magazine to get an idea of just how small this new digital camera is.

I did a little more research on the TestFreaks, the site I wrote about before. They have a lot of consumer reviews on the camera, and it really just makes me want it even more now! It doesn’t come with that lens though, that is extra.

I wrote a few weeks back how awesome the front office is at my job. It looks so awesome, and while I was complimenting (sucking up) my potential boss about how nice it was he told me is was professionally decorated by an interior designer. It’s all Century furniture, and totally gorgeous. Imagine my surprise when I got into my suite and was greeted by an old ugly desk. I was rather disappointed. I was really hoping I would have a fancy office also!

I’m getting a step further ahead every single day with Joomla! today I learned how the menu structure worked, and I linked all my content items in a nice little hierarchy of link bliss. Oh that makes me warm and fuzzy inside.

Maybe someday I will get so good at using it, I can create Joomla! tutorials for the n00bs like me.

My company is growing in so many ways, and now with me as the IT Director (heh, I still love that title), I am excited to take them into the year 2007! This is a huge challenge as they are literally still stuck in about 2001, and you all know how much the internet has changed in just that 6 years. I’ve got corporate blogs planned, and some really cool content management systems I wrote about earlier tonight. It’s exciting, and there is so much more that I want to do.

On thing that I think we need to look into is web conferencing. We’ve got a fairly large sales force, and I know we could be so much more productive if we were to enable some web conference software in our organization. It will also help immensely to communicate with our clients that are all over the United States.

We currently have seminars once a month here in Las Vegas, and as much as people love to come to Las Vegas for any excuse they can think of, I think we could hold almost weekly web seminars, with just as much bang for the potential clients buck, plus we could also coach our current clients while they are in their living rooms in their pj’s if they want.

There are so many uses for web conferencing that we would probably come up with new ideas when we get more into doing it. From instant focus groups, to consumer testing. Or things like video presentations, and media relations. It is definitely something I need to look into.

As cool as my cell phone looks, there comes a time when I could really use a cell phone cover to protect it. I never ever liked the plain black, no style ones, that were available on the market, so I never got one. I mean why pay for a really neat looking phone only to cover it up?

With web sites now like AccessoryGeeks.com you can search by your phone model, and find a really nice cover, in almost any color you can think of. They have a great looking cellular case for my Sanyo Katana that would work great.

When and if I ever build a house, it is going to have a home theater in it. With the largest TV I can find, maybe that 103″ would work, but there will probably be something bigger by the time I get around to building. I want a popcorn machine, and a bar, and I want everything to run off remote control so I never have to get up. I’m a big dreamer huh?

I was just telling Michael last night who I would like a new digital camera. The one I have is about 4 years old, and I rarely use it anymore. I always end up using his when I need to take pictures. My camera phone takes pretty good pictures, but not as nice as his digital camera does.

I’m really partial to Sony electronics, but lately I’ve been looking at the Canon Powershot’s. I really need to shoot video with it also. Nothing high quality, just good enough ones to put on You Tube. What do you guys think is the best digital camera on the market today?

Growing up in the Midwest, I am pretty familiar with what the lakes and ponds look like in the Spring when they thaw out. I found some good ole’ boys doing a little ice fishing on a lake that looks like it could have been in my home town. At least I know these guys could have come from there. All those rednecks needed was a some fishing tackle and a cooler filled with beer. This is totally something they would have done.
