How did you spend yesterday? Surfing the web, looking at cool shit huh? Not me, dammit! Our server at work went south leaving me with absolutely nothing to do. It was funny though because a couple employees told me they had the most productive day they have had in months, without the internet distraction. HA!

When I walked in the door this morning I was curious to see if it was all fixed. Sure enough, it is, and my life is now a happy one. I did play a few games of solitaire yesterday. I played 33 games and I won 1 game. That’s a wonderful 3% streak! I’m so happy I can be working, errrr….blogging today.

    Ugly Office
    08 3rd, 2007

I wrote a few weeks back how awesome the front office is at my job. It looks so awesome, and while I was complimenting (sucking up) my potential boss about how nice it was he told me is was professionally decorated by an interior designer. It’s all Century furniture, and totally gorgeous. Imagine my surprise when I got into my suite and was greeted by an old ugly desk. I was rather disappointed. I was really hoping I would have a fancy office also!

    Why I Have Been Away
    07 20th, 2007

I’ve been kind of absent lately because I got a new job. The kind you have to get dressed up for, drive there, and do an 8 hour shift. It’s been quite the adjustment from staying home for 1.5 years, wearing yoga pants, and flip flops. I’m a companies new IT Director. I didn’t replace anyone technically, but I am taking over all the stuff the owner use to do on his own, and doesn’t have time for anymore.

Anyone of you that have ever been in this position that I am in now, can certainly sympathize with me right? I’m down one week now and I am already online searching out cruises, because I feel the need for a vacation already. It is largest cluster %&@$ of madness that I have ever seen. Files upon files of paperwork. Domains registered here, and hosted there. All different accounts, all different places, and nothing documented.

    Help!

I was just writing on one of my other blogs how we can’t find the keys to our house. You see we have always used the garage to come in and out. The car remotes, and the keypad have been the most useful. No fumbling for keys in the dark, just hit the button, or punch in the code. There was one time the code got messed up for some reason, and we were totally locked out, so we had to break in a side window. If I knew of a local locksmith I could have called, we wouldn’t have had to break in. I actually do have a friend, a locksmith Kansas city is the place, but that’s just a little too far to make a service call.

But it got me to thinking of how much we rely on electronic gadgets. From key less door entries to all our cell phone chargers. Not to mention our need for electricity. I can’t imagine how different our lives would be without it. Would I just not know any better, so I wouldn’t miss it? LOL! Anyway, I need to find the keys to our house, so we can actually leave it. I can’t go anywhere if no one is home to unlock the door for me when I return. It’s just nuts that I can’t find these damn keys!

    Nothing News Worthy
    06 26th, 2007

When the internet has been working today, it’s been a rather uneventful day. I’m not really having any luck trying to find something to write about. It seems Paris getting out of jail is pretty news worthy, and Lindsey being stuck in the drug rehabs again, and not being to have her 21st birthday party in Las Vegas is huge news. Big deal!

My internet has been going on and off all morning. I was starting to get irritated until I remembered the notice from the cable company that I had clearly put up on my refrigerator, that this would be happening all week. They are doing work on the lines to bring us “faster high speed” internet. I pay for 5 megs now, not that I ever reach that, but hopefully whatever they are doing will get me up there. During the downtime, I’ve been cleaning my desk, and picking up all the random scattered ballpoint pens, and putting them back in their cup. Does one person really need over 50 pens on their desk?

This is just going to be a short personal note from me and nothing related to technology or the internet, other than the internet is going to explode with all the blogs and websites about her. I’m so sick of Britney Spears and her in and out of drug rehab stories on the news. The girl needs to just check her ass in and stay there. She’s got issues, and she’s ruining herself. She ought to be ashamed also. She has so many little girls that love her music and look up to her. Have you ever been to a Britney Spear’s concert? I would say that they are 60% of kids under the age of 16.

    Geeks Diet
    02 15th, 2007

So what does a Geek’s diet consist of? Probably a lot of delivery foods like Chinese and pizza, or the occasional deli sandwich. What do you think they drink? I’m going to say Red Bull is going to be the drink of choice. It keeps you going and it gives you wings! You know all that geeks need wings right?

    Computer Desk
    02 15th, 2007

What kind of desk do you have? I use to have a big clunky one that was full of stuff, kind of like one of these at Powell furniture. Once I cleaned it out and realized that I didn’t need that big thing, I got a real nice streamlined one, that goes with the rest of my furniture real nicely. It’s got on cabinet for my computer. One drawer for pens, and one draw for hanging files. There is an area where my laptop sits, and an elevated part where my second monitor is. It’s just perfect. Not too big, and not to small.

    Anna Nicole Smith Dies
    02 8th, 2007

So now that Anna Nicole Smith has died I wonder what the outcome of the paternity test is going to be for her daughter and the two fathers fighting over it. Now that the key witness is dead, it’s going to put a wrench in it I’m sure. Her whole life was just one tragic event after the other and I’m not really surprised it ended this way.
