Vtech 5883 4-Pack Cordless Phones

JulieCool Products

Weekly Deal on Buy.com I’m checking out the weekly deals at Buy.com today and I spotted an amazing deal on a Vtech 5883 4-Pack Cordless phones, Four Handset Cordless Phone System for only $64.99. That’s four phones for $64.99. I have this exact same system in my house that I use with our Vonage service although I paid almost three times that amount at Best Buy.

I have the base sitting in our front room, and it’s plugged into the phone jack. The other three phones are distributed around the house in various locations. Those only are required to be plugged into power. You don’t need a phone jack for those. Since I have Vonage (VoIP), I have the answering machine turned off, but if we decided to go to digital phone service then I would have the answering machine turned on. It’s also nice when someone answers the phone upstairs and it’s for a person who is downstairs. You can transfer calls between handsets just by hitting select and the handset number 1, 2, or 3.

Features

  • Enhanced 5.8 GHz technology
  • Four handset systemincludes 4 handsets and requires only one phone jack (only one handset can be in use at a time)
  • Caller ID/call waitingstores 45 calls
  • Digital answering system no tapes or moving parts
  • 20 name and number phonebook directory easily store and dial frequently called numbers
  • 9 number speed dial
  • WiFi friendlywont interfere with wireless networks
  • Large lighted display for easier viewing

Make sure to check out the Weekly Deal sale on Buy.com every week. They have great deals on all kinds of electronic items like external hard drives, USB flash drives, GPS units, and hi-def digital camcorders. They even feature diamond necklaces, DVD’s and software.

Secure Zip - PKWARE - Decrypt and Drive

PKWARE, the inventor of the .zip standard, is giving away a non-commercial use license of SecureZIP Express and the opportunity to win great prizes in the new “Decrypt and Drive” contest!

With SecureZIP Express you can compress/decompress and encrypt files that you store or send. Compressing files is a great way to save storage space, especially on thumb drives and CD’s, and we all have files we should be securing! The software also includes a digital certificate so you can exchange files securely with others without using passwords. Only the person the file was encrypted for can open it when you use a digital certificate. The software is fully licensed for non-commercial use and has no toolbars or spyware! For years, PKWARE has given free .zip software away and wants as many users as possible to receive the benefits of SecureZIP.

PKWARE is giving away great prizes including a Honda scooter, bicycles, Wii games, gas cards, and more! Visit www.DecryptandDrive.com to play the game daily and/or download the free software. Bank Robber Hires Decoys On Craigslist

JulieCool Geek Stuff

No really…this happened, and it worked! The cops still don’t know where the robber is.

It appears to have unfolded this way, according to a Seattle-based NBC affiliate: around 11:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, the robber, wearing a yellow vest, safety goggles, a blue shirt, and a respirator mask went over to a guard who was overseeing the unloading of cash to the bank from the truck. He sprayed the guard with pepper spray, grabbed his bag of money, and fled the scene.

But here’s the hilarious twist. The robber had previously put out a Craigslist ad for road maintenance workers, promising wages of $28.50 per hour. Recruits were asked to wait near the Bank of America right around the time of the robbery–wearing yellow vests, safety goggles, a respirator mask, and preferably a blue shirt. At least a dozen of them showed up after responding to the Craigslist ad.

TweetLater

I came across a cool application for Twitter today called TweetLater. It allows you to schedule tweets when you are away from your computer, auto follow the people that start following you, and sends each new follower a welcome direct message that you pre-write. It’s pretty nifty! Thanks retta719 for showing me this site.
